Beautiful! All the pieces and time spent making this art is incredible. The first photo of Yan seated against the tree was IT for me. Powerful work, Katriena.

Aww thank you Danielle! I just feel if there is more storytelling verbally and visually it will help us remember and value what is truly special in connecting us to Nature

This is absolutely stunning!! The images turned out so beautifully, especially the one of Yan sitting hand over heart at the roots of the tree with the placenta dress spread over it and around the slit above her head in the trunk. I’ve never seen ruby red sap like that, what a treat it must have been to be so up close! Thank you for sharing this journey, you’ve inspired me!

Aww 🥰 🙏 thank you! And yes the ruby red sap was like finding crystals growing on a tree literally! So beautiful but also so fragile as they crack easily

Imagine a choker made with crystals that looked like that sap 😍 heaven. I never told you this but my first entrepreneurial venture was fashion styling (waaaay back in 2015) and when I see your creativity it *almost* makes me want to get back into fashion!

Oh wow I didn’t know you were in fashion, but I’m not surprised as I got that vibe from you that you work or worked in a creative industry like fashion. A chocker with it would be beautiful, I must investigate this sap next time and see if it can be polished like amber into jewellery, if jts as hard as amber, maybe! Hopefully !
